Barbara Weinstein, an audiologist and the executive officer of the health sciences doctoral programs at the City University of New York, said that as far as she knew, the listening studio was unique in the world of audiology.
“There are no tests in simulated listening spaces that are predictive of how people will do in the real world,” she said. “We’ve been looking for it, and we need it desperately. This attempt would bring us very close.”
